Alcohol Research UK will co-fund research with the MRC and ESRC to explore the link between harms caused by alcohol and drinking behaviours
Our second flagship initiative is a collaboration between Alcohol Research UK, the Medical Research Council and the Economic and Social Research Council. Successful projects will investigate links between specific harms and distinct patterns, levels and duration of alcohol consumption at key stages in the life-course. We expect that establishing such links will create breakthroughs in the field, provide compelling evidence to inform public health policy and lay the groundwork for the design of interventions. The whole of the life-course can be considered although we expect the focus to be on key stages where problems emerge or are prevalent.
Between £200,000 and £500,000 is available for each project.
