Researching alcohol harm: 30 years of impact

impact-report-coverIn 2014, we commissioned a team lead by Professor Richard Velleman to look at the the impact of Alcohol Research UK and it predecessor the Alcohol Education and Research Council.  Professor Velleman’s final report set out in detail the enormous range of work that we had commissioned since 1982, and the critical impact our funded research had on both policy and practice.  This report presents highlights from that study, and demonstrates the importance of our longstanding commitment to funding independent, objective and scientifically rigorous research over the years.
