For other grant-making charities

Whether your charity is already an expert in the alcohol field or whether it is something you know little about, Alcohol Research UK is keen to talk to you. The more we can we can work in partnership, the greater the difference we can make.

We will be very happy to meet you and discuss the need for some work to be undertaken on a particular issue. Perhaps you already have a project in mind and we could talk about a joint funding arrangement.

On the other hand, you might prefer simply to engage us as an intermediary – telling us what you need, providing the funding and then leaving it up to us to find a research team to undertake the work, oversee project progress and delivery and then report to you at the end. Again, there may be match funding opportunities.

Or you might be involved with a charity working in the alcohol field that is finding it hard to meet its charitable objectives. Perhaps the administration has become difficult. We would be pleased to talk to you about how we could help to revitalise your charity.

Examples of grant-making charities we have worked with recently include The Thomas Pocklington Trust, Balance NE, Comic Relief, the Joseph Rowntree Foundation and Drinkaware.

To talk about these opportunities further, please contact Dave Roberts, Chief Executive, via the contact us page.

“It has been a great experience working alongside Alcohol Research UK on our joint funded project on promising approaches to tackling alcohol related harm. Our common aim, namely a commitment to fund good quality research and development with the aim of influencing policy and practice, made them a perfect partner. We’ve built positive working relationships between the two organisations and gained much through the process.”
