Leaving a gift in your will

Alcohol Research UK welcomes donations of any size. They all help us to provide the reliable, research-based evidence that can really make a difference in tackling the problem of alcohol misuse now and in the future.

Leaving a gift in your will is a wonderful way of helping us to continue the long fight against alcohol-harm.

Leave £20,000 or more and you can even set up your own named endowment fund at Alcohol Research UK, so that grants will continue to be made in your name (or another name of your choosing) in perpetuity. You can specify the priorities for your named fund in your will, and these will be honoured by us. However, if you do plan to do this we strongly recommend that you set very broad priorities and talk to us first; the field of alcohol-harm prevention is so moving and we don’t want your priorities to become outdated.

Leaving money to any charity in your will is easy. And it does not have to be at the expense of other beneficiaries, such as family members – you can leave as much or as little of your estate to charity as you like. But please always consult a solicitor if you wish to make any changes to your will or if you want to create a will for the first time.
