We need your support if we’re going to make a difference.
Historically, the prevention and treatment of alcohol-related harm has tended to have a lower priority than tackling other forms of addiction, such as illegal drugs. Consequently, it has received much less investment than some other problems, at both national and local level. And this is despite the relatively higher cost of alcohol-related harm to the health and economy of the nation.
Alcohol Research UK funds research and other initiatives that increase understanding of alcohol-harm – the causes, the problems and the solutions. These findings are used to influence both policy and practice.
Whether you are an individual who has been affected by the consequences of excessive alcohol consumption, a company that is interested in improving the health of the nation, an agency that needs to undertake some research, or another charity that is already working in the field, there are lots of ways in which we can work together to tackle an issue which can have long term and devastating effects on individuals and their families.
